CALL FOR PAPERS

Faced with the unprecedented crisis generated by the global pandemic brought by COVID 19, businesses large and small and the economic system in its entirety is going through trials unimagined before. Last year’s Call for paper was all about development, growth and thriving for organisations because everything was booming and looking bright. This year is about survival capabilities, about navigating uncertainty and reinventing business models.

The unexpected character, the global outreach and all-sectors ramifications of this crisis have revealed how unprepared we were and how in our quest for more success, we overlooked the basic capabilities we need for survival. In these strange times, it seems that the ability to adapt quickly, to let go to known ways of doing business, to reinvent the business models, to display vision and leadership are qualities that mark the difference between those who survive and those who don’t survive. Moreover, it seems that hope emerges as a propelling force for all these desirable qualities, as in the words of Johannes Rau “The one who hopes can act”.

This year, the 11th Edition of Griffiths School of Management and IT Annual Conference calls for researchers to explore the theme Navigating through crisis - business, technological and ethical considerations.

We invite papers to identify the influence of crisis on business models, financial sustainability, decision-making, leadership models, technology adaptation and all other aspects of organizational life. Also, we invite researchers to explore survival capabilities needed in times of crisis, best practices and proposed solutions for the future of organisations. We welcome theory-based and empirical studies grounded both in qualitative or quantitative methodology as well as conceptual contributions coming from researchers and practitioners from around the world. As this is a global crisis, we need a global effort to understand it and cope with it.

The Conference provides a transdisciplinary platform for academics and practitioners in the field of Economics, Management, Information Technology, E-Business and e-Commerce Leadership, Marketing, Human Resources, Business Ethics, Operations Management, Financial Management, Entrepreneurship, Non-profit Organizations, Public Administration and Management, Logistics Management, Transdisciplinary Studies to bounce ideas, concepts and best practices that can help organizations survive.
